Great fun and exercise. I am in the adult classes and was an Uber noob to MMA. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I started because I wanted to up my exercises with something fun and it worked great. I'm still here and even renewed my membership. Coaches are welcoming and answer any question (even if you think it a stupid one). Worth a try.

Genuinely a blast to be a part of. Very beginner friendly and opening atmosphere with different plan options for those with complicated work schedules.

3 weeks in and we are impressed! The coaches are so kind and fun while still getting the kids to apply respect accountability during class. I love that they take time each class to talk about life skills, how to treat others and to never give up. Coach Burtrum is awesome! I wasn't sure what to expect going in but as a parent I am very happy with everything thing I've seen abd my our son really enjoys going. I recommend.

Hello so I’m a student here at Cosens I had past taekwondo training and wanted to do mma so I had switched well this place is amazing my instructor are very kind and teach me well. I have hard time understanding stuff sometimes but they always are able to teach pretty well here. The place is small but it is in a mall and that’s no problem either there’s just enough space. But I would definitely say cosens is a great choice

We brought our 3 and 5 yo to the free class and it was great! Both liked it and we feel the skills being taught will benefit them greatly so we are signing them both up for weekly classes

My daughter is new to this but she is really loving this program. I recommend giving it a chance!

First session was absolutely incredible. Instructors are willing to work with any pace and any level of skill. I can tell this is definitely the place for me!

This place amazes me as my daughter is tqking classes and has gone from mental anger to learning self control and how to express her anger and now has a release to let it out in a controlled environment

My son has been at cosens mma for about 9 months and he absolutely loves it as well as my self. I love that it is a life skills based academy. They take time at every practice to have a life skills lesson teaching them about respect good manners ext.. if you are interested in your child learning something new try cosens mma not only do they teach mma and teaches self respect self discipline setting goals and work to achieve them i would highly recommend cosens mma

For 2.5 years, our daughter continues to enjoy her participation at Cosens. Her attention to the instruction has improved as she has matured and grown. The coaches are top notch— they make class fun, and if redirection is necessary, it is provided compassionately. The whole experience has been amazing. Pediatrician recommended! ETA a year later: 5-stars all the way to Junior Black Belt! ❤️

I have had a great experience with my 4 year old working with the coaches for his program. Besides the physical benefits of coordination and control I am seeing improvements in focus and patience for my extremely hyperactive kid. His preschool and daycare are also reporting he is listening better, often repeats the things he learns in class “sit ready, steady, and still!” And “Focus means pay attention!” He loves coming twice a week and both of his coach’s are extremely patient with him and work well with his energy and helping him keep on task. I would highly recommend them to others and can’t wait to see how he continues to develop in this program!

Attended a free women's self defense class and SO glad I did. It was a very good class. We were reminded of simple things like to look up when walking, only click your remote once when unlocking your car doors to keep the other doors locked and unavailable for someone to jump in with you, travel in groups when possible....etc. We also got some hands on protective moves. Was definitely a very useful class!!!

My daughter has been going here july 2024.. it has helped her with her confidence and feeling like a part of a team... if you are looking for a place that can help your kid find their self, highly recommend...I can see where it would be pricey for a single parent. But truly over all worth it..

My daughter absolutely loves her MMA classes. She loves her coaches and the training. We love the change in her since she has started training! This is the best activity for yourself or your kids!

We have been bringing our son since he was 5 years old-fast forward 5 years and he is still progressing and constantly learning new moves and techniques. Cosens has so many levels to help grow in martial arts as far as you want to go.

Coach Shu and Coach Brewer are legit. They each have their own way of working with children so they understand and relate. Our son has been with cosens since he was 3 (now 5) and just received his tiny black belt and advanced to the littles class. Both Coach Shu and Brewer have worked directly with our son independently and with the group and I appreciate the dedication and time they spend teaching life lessons, values and what respect means at such a young age. I have gained such a high respect and value to both coaches as I've watched them progress with our son and the caring they show in his learning experience! You're both like family! Coach Shu and Coach Brewer, you two are both great examples of what good people are in this world and I'm thankful to call and consider you both an excellent role model my son can look up to..!!

I started at Cosens three months ago with no prior wrestling or martial arts experience and have been attending Monday/Wednesday evening classes. I was nervous walking in the first day as I knew that I'd be up against people with competitive MMA experience but immediately felt comfortable and welcomed by the staff and classmates. It's a super supportive environment and I've never had more fun getting my butt kicked while kicking butt. I recommend Cosens highly to anyone interested in MMA no matter what age or skill level.

Cosens martial arts here in bay city, thank you to the coach's. You have given my son a new found confidence. He is thriving so much in social situations in and out of school. Thank you for being patient with him and his difficulty to stay attentive during class. This class is helping him in so many ways and I can't begin to say how proud I am of how far he has come since starting.

I started the adult classes about a month ago and it has been a great mix of practical skills, exercise, and fun. I couldn’t ask for much more!

They are very committed to their members and are open for whatever your needs are!! 10 stars!!

I have nothing but great things to say about our experience here. The coaches have been very helpful and supportive. On more than one occasion, the coaches have taken time to give my child guidance both in, and out of the gym. I wish I would’ve enrolled my child here sooner. 6 Stars!

I absolutely love what this program is doing for my child. I won't lie it's rather expensive. I'm a working mother and money is tight. I was very upset about affordability at first. After watching my child's personal growth I 100% believe the program is worth the price. Sure they are learning physical skills. However the mental skills these kids are learning are priceless. The coaches take time with every student. My son had a hard day at school and coach Shu took the time to sit him down and talk through it. Coach Brewer is also excellent. You can tell these people really care about each and every child. Huge thanks to all of the staff involved. One of the best parenting decisions I've ever made. If you're thinking about signing up you won't regret it. You can't put a price on your child's future.
